How much will the faction wars change the game? Will players from different factions still be able to play together and be in the same guild? Will the choices be permanent or can you change?
And most important: Will there be extra character slots?

Sounds interesting but was anyone else hoping that they would finish up the Chapter 1 storyline and give it the ending it deserves.

I like the player versus player aspect to the new missions. Should keep everything interesting. Is that for PVP only or do RPG players also fight some PVP to complete missions?

I've been wondering about that for ages now. And although I definitly love that list of features, I'd would love to see a little bit more professions.
|
I'm actually hoping that's it. I'd much rather see more skills/attributes on the professions we already have rather than have more professions.

As long as they make my warrior go on a diet and not look like a fat bas**** and my necro no longer look like he had a close encounter with a belt-driven floor sander (or make the females look fat and ugly as well, I'm all for equality between sexes ) I'm sold.

It's on the front cover in a very obvious place, you can't miss it.

This is great news. I just hope that the new missions and quests on Cantha are not so low-level that most/many would be boring to play with level-20s from Chapter 1.
Gaile, I don't suppose you know whether the "Chapter 1" regions will have more playable areas do you in the expasion? I would just sooo like so see some undead/mummy-style tombs in the desert - like in "chapter 2" of Diablo II. There seem to be a lot of "shaft" or "tunnels" goin down into the Crystal desert that go nowhere. I made a post about it on one of the threads for Chapter 2 suggestions. Or would that be more of a Chapter 3 thing?

Is it old? Living in Sweden, and altough the chance of finding Computer Gaming World in stores is very small, the chance of finding an old one is even smaller

Are those the only benefits? If so, they don't sound all that appealing. What exactly does "merchant" mean? Ie: Does that mean you get discounts on ectos etc.? (which would be cool). Or is it only for things that wouldn't matter if you get a discount or not, like ID and salvage kits (which would make "merchant discounts" pointless)?

About the release date. I was doing some "online shopping" and most of the sites I came upon said march 31 was the release date. Of course, they all had the "release date may be changed." But let's hope for march 31 as the latest.

It is a fair question. France should have a preview soon. Germany and the U.K. are sending reps this week and will have a preview soon, as well. Another major U.S. mag is sending a rep in the next week or so. There will be a lot of coverage in all regions, and I'm sure that each region will have good info, not necessarily as an exclusive, but more as a factor of the writer focusing upon it when others did not. So what we should do it have excellent write-ups -- a review of a preview, if you will -- that give the highlights of each article. In that way, all players get full information!
As long as the copyrights are respected, individual members of the different regions can share the info that they've gleaned. For credibility, I'd recommend posting the source, so that everyone knows it is on the up and up.

I'm seriously starting to think they'll release it at GWWC... I for one wouldn't complain if that was the case.
And well, about the entire 'can't get the magazine issue'. I must say I too am a bit dissapointed that non-Americans have to wait longer for the information. I personally think that's pretty normal and a summary simply cannot top a full length article with pictures. The fact that this is the first indept coverage of the upcoming chapter does not help. I can imagine myself not caring anymore when lots of reviews start appearing in the future but for now, and now is the time that matters, it basically sucks. The fact that non-americans will get their share of info eventually isn't a big comfort there. I'm sure you understand that. We all love this game, and we're all enthusiasts about the upcoming chapter. It's a bit sad to see that love go unanswered for a while.
P.S. Okay, i'll admit. I'm exagerating... But hey, this is liking putting an entire bag of sweets infront of me and forbidding me to eat them. AAAAAH, flashbacks!
